Yes, My Epson C1900 doesn't print the dots when we print in B&W mode
too.....
I'm still working on this printer and it looks that it's a little bit more
easier than i tought.
After all, i think the pattern of C1900 only has 15 dots on vertical and 24
on horizontal.
Let's see.....

I've looked at our HP Color LaserJet 3550, and it's got the dots.  I've
printed off the full set of printouts and will send it in RSN.

[The CLJ 3550n is the same exact printer with the addition of an external
JetDirect device, fwiw]

Strangely, when the printer driver is set to monochrome, "Print In
Greyscale", the tracking dots are not printed.
