Yes, this is the same method I'm using.

For the DocuColor 12 data, at first I did not agree that Column 1 is parity.  I
thought of it as a checksum, calculated by taking the inverse XOR of all the
other columns.  But the net effect is the same:  odd parity = inverse XOR.  An
interesting way to calculate parity -- I'll have to remember that!

For the B3 watermarks, refer to the two posts before yours in this mail list. 
The B3 printer uses the same watermarking scheme as the HP 2600N.  I still
haven't been able to correlate the embedded watermark data to the printer
serial number.  If you have more time to waste, give it a shot!
