[Printers] obfuscate dots?

I'm in the market for a color laser printer, and I stumbled on the EFF 
page. Very interesting stuff. What is the feasibility of obfuscating 
the dot pattern? I could simply put a filter on my print spooler so 
every page I print is overlaid with a pattern of yellow dots like my 
printer's pattern, in such a way as to obscure the printer's pattern. 
Would it work?
